Dentures

Dental Fillings

Also known as false teeth, can be either complete, where all the teeth are missing or partial, when some teeth remain. Dentures are not as effective as dental implants but more affordable.

Root Canal

Root Canal Therapy is the control of infection by removing dead pulp from inside the tooth. A successful root canal procedure will generally save the infected tooth where it is then cleaned, sterilised ad reshaped. 

Extractions

The dentists here at SV Dental Centre regard tooth extraction as being the last resort but sometimes it can be the best option. This may be the case if the tooth is too badly damaged, for example if it has fractured right down through the tooth root, or where it is so badly infected that we need to remove it to clear up the infection.

TMD & Bruxism

Bruxism is the technical term for clenching and grinding, a subconscious condition that often occurs nocturnally. As a result, patients may be unaware they have this habit until they begin to experience symptoms, receive complaints from sleeping partners as grinding can be noisy, or it is diagnosed by a dentist.

Fresh Breath

Everyone hopes to have fresh breath and while occasional halitosis will affect us all, more persistent bad breath does require investigation. We know this problem can be embarrassing, but we are here to help you and take a very caring and sympathetic approach to this problem as it is important to find out the cause. 

Dental Fillings

The fillings used in our practice are colour coded to your natural teeth so that any cavities we restore are totally unnoticeable.

Crowns are the best option for restoring the look and function of damaged teeth. A crown will cover the damage tooth with a porcelain material in the shape, size and colour of the surrounding teeth using the CEREC digital 3D infrared scanning system.

Teeth Whitening

Veneers

Porcelain and composite veneers are fine pieces of ceramic that, once applied to your teeth, are resistant to staining. As thin as a contact lens, Veneers are fitted to the front side surface of your teeth with the ability to totally re-shape your smile. 

Inlays & Outlays

Amalgam or tooth coloured composite resin fillings are ideal for repairing small to medium sized cavities in back teeth, but may lack the strength required for restoring larger areas of decay.

Reshaping Teeth

If you have cracked teeth, crooked teeth, overlapping or even chipped teeth, dental reshaping is a safe conservative way to contour one or more teeth to a desired or specified shape.

SINGLE / MULTIPLE DENTAL IMPLANTS

We can also help you if you have lost multiple teeth and currently wear partial or full dentures but would prefer to get rid of them and find a more permanent and comfortable solution.

CROWN LENGTHENING

Is a ‘gummy’ smile giving causing you angst? Crown lengthening involves the removal of excess gum tissue that sits above and/or below your teeth giving you a more teeth filled smile. 

Single / Multiple Dental Implants

All-On-Fours

All-on-four is a procedure for securing a complete arch of teeth firmly in place, using just four dental implants, which is fewer than normally required. This technique is normally used to replace full lower dentures with a full arch bridge, but may also be used to replace a full upper denture. It can be an excellent solution if you currently wear full dentures or are facing complete tooth loss in the future.

Sinus Graft / Lift

Dental implants require a certain width and depth of bone as this will ensure there is plenty of natural bone for Osseo integration, a process where new bone cells will grow on and around the implant post, anchoring it firmly in place. Often there is insufficient bone and it is necessary to build it up with a bone graft.

Bone Augmentation

Dental implants need sufficient bone to support them in order to be successful. Jawbone can be reabsorbed after tooth loss or it can be destroyed due to periodontal disease or another dental infection, or as a result of trauma or injury.
