Veneers Melbourne VIC
What Are Veneers and How Can They Help Improve My Smile?
Veneers are designed to cover up the front surfaces of your teeth, forming a very thin veneer or shell that can help hide minor imperfections. Veneers can be made from composite resin, a tooth coloured material that can be applied directly to the front of the tooth, or they can be custom-made in porcelain in our dental laboratory and will be cemented onto the prepared surfaces of your teeth.
We can use veneers in a number of different ways to help improve your smile. They are very good at hiding minor chips or for building up areas that may be worn down or which are simply too small or slightly irregularly shaped. Veneers can also be used to minimise or close up gaps in between teeth or to hide teeth that are badly stained and which will not respond to tooth whitening treatments.
Who Can Have Veneers?
Veneers are best used for teeth that are strong and healthy and which don’t have any large fillings. With porcelain veneers we will normally have to remove a tiny amount of tooth surface to create sufficient room so the new veneer will not feel bulky or unnatural. We might suggest using veneers in conjunction with other cosmetic dentistry treatments, for example teeth whitening to create a new look that is beautiful yet conservative.
Every care is taken when designing your veneers, right down to the tiniest details, to make sure they blend in beautifully with existing teeth. Dr Schlen and his dental team have a lot of experience and technical knowledge, combined with the artistry that is required to create the perfect veneers for you.
