Single / Multiple Dental Implants
Why Should I Consider Dental Implants?
It could be worth considering dental implants if you are facing tooth loss, perhaps due to a failed root canal treatment or as a result of disease or trauma. We can also help you if you have lost multiple teeth and currently wear partial or full dentures but would prefer to get rid of them and find a more permanent and comfortable solution.
How Can Single and Multiple Implants Be Used?
Single dental implants can be restored with an implant crown, while multiple implants can be used to support fixed bridges, where you have more than one missing tooth in the same area. We can provide beautiful full-arch bridges to replace all your upper or lower teeth and these are supported by multiple dental implants. An implant bridge can be cemented in place, or we may screw it in position. You will not be able to see the screws as these are covered up with tooth-coloured composite resin, but this does allow us to easily retrieve the bridge should it require repairs or maintenance. We can also fit removable bridges that will clip onto dental implants and which you can remove for easy cleaning.
Are There Any Health Benefits in Choosing Dental Implants?
A dental implant post will closely replicate a tooth root, providing stimulation to your jawbone that will prompt it to continue renewing bone cells, preventing bone resorption. This is very important as once natural teeth are removed, your jawbone no longer receives any stimulation and your jawbone will gradually become flatter and narrower. Bone loss can affect the stability of your remaining natural teeth and will make dentures increasingly difficult to wear due to decreased retention. Dental implants prevent this from happening. If you currently wear dentures you will find it much easier to eat with dental implants so you can enjoy a balanced and nutritious diet that will benefit your dental and general health.
