Principal Dentist & Director
Dr Leighton Phu completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours at the University of Melbourne in 2011. Upon graduation he moved to Wangaratta to work in private practice for three years before returning home to Melbourne, where he is currently the Director and Principal Dentist at SV Dental Centre. He is also currently appointed as the Senior Consultant Dentist for St Vincent’s Public Hospital and student mentor at the University of Melbourne, where he also held the teaching position as a pre-clinical instructor.
Dr Leighton is known to his patients as a very gentle, thorough, and compassionate dentist. He finds it particularly rewarding when he is able to help patients overcome their anxiety with dental treatment. His passion and clinical focus is dental implantology and reconstructive dentistry, in particular the implementation of digital and CAD-CAM technology to enhance treatment workflow, clinical outcomes and patient experiences.
He has completed advanced training in this field with the Dental Implant Academy as well as completing the Master Clinician Program at Loma Linda University (USA) in Dental Implantology with the Global Institute of Dental Education, being awarded the highest distinction in Australia.
